Fundraising

Dear Friend,

I am writing as founder and Principal of Wesley College to ask for your help with a project that is close to my heart.

Firstly, I want to thank you and the good people of Abaco for your support over the years, making our achievements possible.

Wesley College’s  Objectives:

Wesley College is based on the concept that education is a continuous, lifelong process for equipping persons with knowledge, skills and values which will develop their potential as creative human beings and as productive citizens.

  • Wesley College offers comprehensive education of a high standard for all ages from infancy through adulthood.
  • Wesley College encourages the development of healthy, reliable and industrious citizens. In order to instill a sense of responsibility in each student, duties are delegated and meaningful functions carried out by the students themselves.
  • Wesley College places a definite emphasis on discipline and Christian Citizenship.
  • Wesley College’s graduates attain high academic achievements at Bahamian, American, British, and Canadian colleges.

In the eighteen years since our founding we have

  • advanced Pre-School education through our Early Learning programme;
  • provided special attention for many children with learning challenges utilizing a senior staff member specializing in the field;
  • achieved the best Bahamas Junior Certificate and Bahamas General Certificate of Secondary Education results on Abaco, and ranked among the top ten in the nation;
  • developed Abaco’s premier music programme evidenced by the performances of The Wesley College Band;
  • encouraged students to develop practical skills through their involvement in agriculture through the 4H programme;
  • facilitated cultural appreciation through music, drama, travel and junkanoo.

The nation and the world are hearing our message:  we have dispersed graduates to New Providence, Grand Bahama, the United States and Canada, and, have received positive reports wherever our graduates have gone —people whose names you know and whose work you respect—work with WESLEY COLLEGE to advance its goals.

This mounting demand for WESLEY COLLEGE’S’ input has outstripped our resources.  We need your help now to continue and expand our important work in promoting Education for Excellence on Abaco, and in the Bahamas.

All gifts will be individually acknowledged. Please send your contribution to WESLEY COLLEGE, P O Box AB 20443, Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas.

You also help when you get involved:

  • Invite the Wesley College Band to perform at a special function sponsored by your establishment.
  • Refer colleagues and friends to our website: wesleycollegebahamas.com.
  • Encourage parents in your community to contact WESLEY COLLEGE about enrolment for their children.
  • Invite a WESLEY COLLEGE speaker or show the WESLEY COLLEGE video at your next event.
  • Attend the next WESLEY COLLEGE Anniversary Dinner, February, 2008.
